Random Thought
Statistically speaking, is a murderer more likely to be a member of the National Rifle Association, or the Screen Actors Guild?
Update: And a related random thought: how is it that so many actors and musicians, members of industries rife with illegal narcotics, can come to the conclusion that gun control will keep guns out of the hands of killers?

Questionable Inspirations From Greek Mythology
Why do people name vehicles after
Phaeton, the reckless driver of Greek mythology?
Why do they name anything flight-related after
Icarus?
Why is NASA's
new launch vehicle program named after the
god of war? Are we looking for precious commodities guarded by blue jungle aliens or something?

Since the Hollywood script writers are on strike, does that mean professional wrestling is on hold?
(Mweheheheh)

Aren't there amusement park rides scarier than waterboarding?
I know that rollercoasters are pretty terrifying, especially when they make those high-speed sharp turns and give you the sensation that you're being thrown to your death. Which is why I stay off those things.

It is altogether fitting that the man who will always be remembered for breaking his "no new taxes" pledge has a
toll road named after him.

It's interesting that people who complain about CEOs making too much money hardly ever complain about the fact that government welfare programs typically spend well over half their budgets on overhead.

A Random Thought About An Old Story
Remember the
Burger King label controversy?
Take a look at the images:

The dissimilarity outweighs the similarity. BK's rendition of an ice cream scoop is more conical in shape, has differently-shaped upward strokes, has the rightmost stroke physically attached to the rest of the diagram, and has no scribbling similar to the portion of the Allah script resembling two accent marks and the numbers 9 and 3.
Now, compare the following:
HAMHAMASIn this case, there's more similarity than dissimilarity.

Random Thought
Economic theory is a linear equation that seeks to maximize human prosperity within three constraints: finite wealth, finite market knowledge, and finite human morality. Socialism underestimates the second and third constraints, and therefore cannot achieve efficiency.
