The Envelope, Please VIII

The 2008 Index of Economic Freedom has been released. The free countries (score 80% or better) are: Hong Kong (90.3), Singapore (87.4), Ireland (82.4), Australia (82.0), United States (80.6), New Zealand (80.2), Canada (80.2). Note that all are former British colonies, and that all four of the colonies featuring European-majority populations (US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) are on the list.
